Tokyo trip Day 1

Spent a weekend at Tokyo to celebrate our anniversary.

We were so lucky to redeem mileages for free air-tickets for Business Class (Northwest) as the seats were just released for redemption not long before our departure. Wow! The seats were so different and they were massage seats! And the food were so ... different!!!

You know hotels in Japan are very very small even you pay more than one thousand per night. So this time we booked a newly opened business hotel Toyoko Inn which is of similar value as a 3-star hotel and simple breakfast are included. This chain hotel group had opened more than 140 hotels in Japan and our booked one is the 139th. This hotel is so convenient as just 2 minutes walk from JR Ostuka station and as Otsuka (大塚) is not a station for shopping, we could have a quiet place to walk back hotel every night! Last time when we were staying at Shinjuku (新宿), the place was just like at Mongkok with full of noisy and crowded people even at mid-night!

As we were lucky enough to travel in Business Class, we could pass the custom very quickly and able to catch the earliest Skyliner to downtown. We landed at 1:15pm, caught the Skyliner at 1:56pm and changed JR at Nippori (日暮里) at 3pm and reached hotel at 3:15pm.

We then took 1 station JR to Ikebukuro (池袋) and visited this place ... Nekobukuro, an indoor place to stay with these lovely cats! The cats were so lovely and we could touch them, hug them and take pictures with them.
