Tenor and Alto

Yesterday we had our weekly vocal practice session.

During multi-parts blending, we always stick to the sopranos as they are the melody to follow. Yesterday the only alto was absent and I sing for the tenor. Without the alto, I got lost as the harmony was not complete, just follow to the sopranos can’t make my ears feel comfortable and I even can’t follow the rhythm. When another girl switched to the alto part, I got back the pace and the voice started to sound comfortable.

Search for the melody is important in blending, but a tenor can’t perform well without the alto.
